Excavation & Sitework

Site-work excavation, underground utilities, grading, and parking lot construction.

No matter the project — difficult access, variable soil conditions, or hard-to-excavate material — we are dedicated to getting your site construction ready.

General site-work excavation, installation of underground structures, and installation of underground pipe are core competencies on our capability statement, and we are an HDPE supplier and installer. Past performance includes a parking lot expansion at the Montrose VA Medical Center and sidewalk and roadway work at the Syracuse VA Medical Center.

Excavation is where a schedule is won or lost. What is under the surface is the part nobody can see on the drawings, so we plan for what we find rather than for what we hoped for.

What drives the cost

Scope and depth, access to the work, soil and subsurface conditions, rock, dewatering, existing utilities, spoil handling and disposal, restoration, and whether the facility stays operational. We price from the drawings and a site walk — never from a rate sheet.

What happens after you call

  1. 01

    Utility locates and survey

Before anything opens up, we confirm what is already down there. Locates, as-builts, and a survey of existing grades — because the expensive surprises on a site are almost always the ones nobody marked.

  2. 02

    Clearing and site prep

Land clearing, stripping, erosion and sediment control, and haul routes established so the site can actually be worked.

  3. 03

    Cut, trench, and install

Mass excavation, utility trenching, underground pipe and structures. HDPE supplied and installed. Shoring and dewatering where conditions call for it.

  4. 04

    Backfill and compaction

Backfill in lifts, compacted and tested to spec, so what goes on top of it holds.

  5. 05

    Grade and turn over

Rough and finish grading to the drawings, then the site goes to the next trade construction-ready — or we build the parking lot ourselves.

Questions

Before you award

The things buyers ask us first. If yours isn't here, call (315) 436-8654.

Who does site-work excavation and underground utilities for government facilities in Central New York?
Industry Standard USA, an SDVOSB and DBE certified general contractor based in Syracuse, NY, performs site-work excavation, utility trenching, installation of underground pipe and structures, grading, and parking lot construction for federal and state agencies across New York State. The company is also an HDPE supplier and installer. Past performance includes the Montrose VA Medical Center parking lot expansion. Call (315) 436-8654.
What happens if you hit rock or bad soil?
Subsurface conditions are the part of an excavation nobody can see on the drawings, so they are handled as a scope question rather than a surprise. Industry Standard USA confirms locates and reviews any available geotechnical data before mobilizing, and where rock, groundwater, or unsuitable material is encountered, the condition is documented and priced against the contract's differing-site-conditions terms rather than absorbed silently or worked around.
What drives the cost of an excavation project?
Scope and depth of excavation, access to the work area, soil and subsurface conditions, rock, dewatering requirements, existing utilities, spoil handling and whether material can stay on site, restoration, schedule, and whether the facility stays operational. Industry Standard USA prices from the drawings and a site walk — never from a rate sheet. Call (315) 436-8654 for a proposal.
